Adolescence is a time of many changes (transitions) both for teenagers and their families. To make sure that teenagers and adults cope with these changes successfully, it is important to understand what is happening to the teenager physically, cognitively, and socially; how these transitions affect teenagers; and what adults can do.


Child Development 11 - 25 training session

Included in this pack is a session plan for a two hour session and all of the related handouts. It covers early adolescence to the mid to late twenties.

This session has been trialled as part of the Common Induction Standards training in Warwickshire.


HSE definition of lone workers

The following definition is taken from the HSE web site.

Lone workers

Occupational group is the factor which is most strongly associated with the risk of assaults at work (Budd, 1999). However, exposure to violence at work not only depends on a person’s occupation but also upon the circumstances and situations under which a person performs their job. Working alone, for example, increases the vulnerability of workers (Chappell & Di Martino, 2000.)
