There was an Open Weekend - publicised by the Government to showcase weekend activities for young people. Some organisations were not consulted and others lacked the funds to take part. The National Youth Agency (NYA) have produced a briefing paper looking at some of the issues around weekend working. You can find this as an attachment.
The Early Years Sector needs thousands more professionals to be able to meet the Government's 2015 target of having an Early Years Professional in every nursery and children's centre.
Shine Week (6th - 10th July) was designed to show how young people can shine. For details of the event go to www.shineweek.co.uk
Parents may lose the right to boycott school sex lessons.
Raising the leaving education or training age to 18. The Government have produced a booklet for Year 7 pupils. This year's year 7 pupils will be the first cohort affected by the legislation. The booklet can be found on the Raising the Participation Age web page.
