The Gap provides a range of services for the local community on the Percy estate in Warwick and Warwick District residents.
Activities:
Children and young people:
- Baby clinic with health visitors once a month.
- 2 stay and play sessions for parents/carers and the under 5s per week. In partnership with Warwick Children's Centre who provide the worker.
- 1 stay and play for fathers/male carers per fortnight, facilitated by our youth and family development manager in partnership with Warwick Children's centre.
- Toy library provision at weekly Stay and Play and Dad's Allowed
- Youth sessions with 8-25 year olds - provision of 6 2 hour sessions per week as well as volunteering and development opportunities for 17-24 year olds.
- NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people - courses around learning skills for employability.
Older Adults:
- Weekly lunch club.
- Weekly art club
- Weekly Extend class (Seated exercise for over 60s and less mobile people)
- Subsidised transport scheme to enable older adults to access services
- Minimum of two day trips per year for older adults - last year summer to Weston Super Mare and Christmas to Wicksteed Park for variety show and lunch.
General:
- 2 weekly beginners computer classes - in partnership with local learning provider
- Weekly T'ai Chi class
- 2 weekly Karate classes run by external fully trained groups
- 1 meditation session per week provided by Birmingham Buddhists
- 2 dog training clubs weekly
- Police surgery once a month with local PCSOs
- Weekly CAB Local sessions
- Local church hire of facilities once a week
Other:
- Volunteering opportunities
- Reflect for Change - community leadership courses empowering local residents to effect change in their local area
- Gap Action Partnership
- Community cafe once a week
